Ethnic Minority Liberal Democrats: Objectives

• Promote the interests of all individuals within and outside the party, regardless of their race, religion, age, ability, gender, sexuality or background.

• Campaign and work with ethnic minorities to promote the objectives of the party

• Encourage, guide and assist EMLD members to play a full role in the democratic processes of the party at all levels

• Ensure that formulation of party policy takes due regard of the needs and views of ethnic minorities

• Recruit new members of the Party and EMLD and encourage existing members to renew their membership

• Work towards an equitable representation of members of ethnic minority communities on public bodies and in elected public office

• Campaign and work with ethnic minorities to promote and project a positive image of ethnic minorities in the United Kingdom

• Promote Liberal Democrat policies and beliefs amongst ethnic minority groups

• Raise the necessary financial aid and other resources to aid the achievement of these aims and objectives
